In my own backyard…and, I’m certain, all over the country.

Posted: August 26th, 2009 | Author: admin | Filed under: Uncategorized | 1 Comment »

While talking with a neighbor yesterday, an Obama voter and supporter, she told me she was done.  She’s throwing in the towel.  It’s  NOT as you might hope. She’s not throwing in the towel on her support of the President and all his bismal ideas, plans, and policies.  Instead, she is throwing in the towel on paying ANY bills.   It’s just too much for her.

A few weeks ago, she told me how she was not able to make payments on a rental property that she had because she was not getting paid from the renter.  She was several months behind when she tried to make a partial payment.   Upon explaining the situation to the mortgage company, they told her that they would not take a partial payment AND would not help her until she was 5 months behind.   She stopped paying for the full five months.  At that time, the mortgage company adjusted her payments, to be much smaller, and her intrest rate dropped to 3% for the first 5 years, 4% for the 6th year, 5% for the 7th year, 6% for the 8th year, and 6.25% for the 9th year.

In the end, however, she just stopped making payments in an effort to let it go into forclosure.

I told her that that was incredible.  That I am paying 8.25% fixed on our student loan, and  maybe I can get it reduced.   Her response was “I can’t believe you’re doing that!  No one does that!  No one pays their student loans back Stacy.”  She was shocked and laughing at the same time.  She works at a hospital here in town and explained that when she asked interns about their student loans, how they will be paying them forever, “they said ‘We don’t have it forever.’  and they laugh about it.  There is some sort of scam going on over there.”  She went on to explain– how the, in her own words, “brothers and sisters” at work were teaching her how to scam the system–not in regards to student loans per se, but everything else.

So it is, my friend has decided to stop paying for her rental property, she has stopped making payments on the apartment she lives in, she has stopped paying electric and gas and utilities.  And I said, “SO I AM PAYING FOR IT!”  and her response was “Yep.”  She has worked her whole life to get somewhere and it has gotten her nothing.  She’s tired of paying everyone else’s way when they are sitting around doing nothing.  She even pointed out something on a paper that came home from school, about free or reduced food prices for kids who are homeless, runaway and migrant children.   She’s furious.  Yet this is what she voted for.

stacy'sletter

She claims that everything we were brought up to believe is the “right way,” is NOT.  We need to do everything backwards from what we thought was right.    Hmmm.

My pulse is racing as I type this.  AGGHHHH!

I was just on the phone with her to clarify some of the details of this story and in the process, I said, “So this is what you wanted when you voted?”

Her- “No, this was going on long before he was in office.”

me- “But you realize that he is massively compounding what is going on in regards to the taxpayers forking over their hard earned money in order to pay for these people doing things like you are doing right now?”

Her- “Listen, this has been going on long before.  I was paying for these people long before this.  You can’t make change in just a couple of months.  I don’t care if it’s Hitler in there, I’m done.  I’ve worked hard and it got me nowhere.  I’m done.  Call me a loser.  I’m proud to be.  It’s going to get me out of this hole.  I can’t worry about the rest of you.”

And just so we all know, our president had nothing to do with it.

So that’s my neighbor.  Anyone?

My mom sent me one of those “chain-ish” emails…but it struck a chord.  I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s highly likely that I am a redneck.

Are you?

You might be a redneck if:

  • It never occurred to you to be offended by the phrase, ‘One nation, under God.’
  • You’ve never protested about seeing the 10 Commandments posted in public places.
  • You still say ‘ Christmas’ instead of ‘Winter Festival.’
  • You bow your head when someone prays.
  • You stand and place your hand over your heart when they play the National Anthem.

(And if it’s at a little league game & your son is on the field while it plays, you actually get weepy. OK, I added this part)

  • You treat our armed forces veterans with great respect, and always have.
  • You’ve never burned an American flag, nor intend to.
  • You know what you believe and you aren’t afraid to say so, no matter who is listening.
  • You respect your elders and raised your kids to do the same.
  • You’d give your last dollar to a friend.

Someone commenting as “Freedom Fan” over at Breitbart had this to say in response to an article quoting Obama’s silly “all wee weed up” comment:

“We have boarded a jumbo jet being flown by a kid who has never ridden a bike, but smiles nice and has a cool pilot costume. Hopefully we will soon locate some adult supervision before we crash land.”

It is so simplistic & spot on that I simply MUST keep it going.

Well said Freedom Fan!

protesting BIG government in Phoenix, AZ.

I’m on vacation & was extremely busy last week prepping for a great big-yearly shindig we throw…didn’t catch a lot of news of upcoming events in my city…YES, I did hear the prez would be visiting the Grand Canyon, blah blah blah but I missed the part that he would be speaking to a group of  VFW members (only a few blocks from my home) downtown on the 17th.

So after dropping my son at school I heard on KFYI that Tom’s Tavern was hosting a Tax protest downtown until 10am.   I headed home, grabbed my camera & ventured downtown.   Historically I’m more the type that speaks through my computer. I had no preconceived idea what was in store. I was delighted with surprise at the turn out

It (the turn out) was beyond what I imagined it would be & the people…well the people made me smile.  They were NOT all conservatives or Republicans…they were Americans standing for liberty…getting along, voicing their opinion against big government.  And, they included HIPSTERS!  YES, hipsters!  Oh, the pro Obama crowd would have you think that unless you support Barack, you are not cool or hip.  How wrong they are.

Here are some visuals of the place, the crowd & some of the terrifically creative ways they expressed their opinions.

They serve great burgers and other diner type fare.

Equipped for the work

“I am a right wing nut job who is waving my flag with my right hand as I type this out with my left.”   ~W

I have been struggling for a while now, as how I am supposed to do this “political thing” as a Christian.  Just last week I heard for the first time ever a sermon on rebuilding America.  He spoke directly from the book of Nehemiah.

Folks, this country is  broken.  It has so much as crumbled to the ground.   It needs to be repaired, rebuilt and refilled with all the greatness that is the foundation of this nation.

It was after the exile, the walls of Jerusalem had been broken down and the gates, burned with fire.  Nehemiah went to the King Artaxerxes to ask if he could go back to rebuild his city.  The request was granted, and the work began.

Unfortunately, similarly to what is happening in our nation, there was opposition to the rebuilding.  When the Ammonites heard that the wall was being rebuilt stone by stone, they became very angry, plotting together to fight against Jerusalem.

They threatened to sneak up on them, kill them and put an end to their work.

Now, at this point in the story I can’t say that the left is plotting to kill us (well except for the abortions, and end of life care which was brought up in the drafts of the health care bill)…but by all means, they are certainly killing our freedom.

Nehemiah went on to say that they were (we are) to fight for our brothers, sons, daughters, wives and homes.  And, that “Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other.”  4:17

This is not a call to violence.  This is a call to protecting rights and freedoms of EVERY American, not just the ones who are in government or who run, or are funded by a special interest group.  We need to work side by side, to rebuild this great nation–whatever that is to you:  planning tea parties, attending town hall meetings, calling and writting your senators, governors, congress people and president, or simply by therapeutically ranting  on a blog. –Stone by stone, it must be done. AND we need to protect what is rightfully ours.  We need not harm anyone, however we must stand guard against the evil that is ensuing…plotting and scheming to destroy us.

It occurs to me that this Presidential Community Organizer should be praising and enouraging the grass roots organization that is taking place in America today, and yet instead, he has his finger on every knick-knack-paddy-whack little thing, attempting to put out fires everywhere, in his almighty effort to SILENCE individual Americans.   It is dizzying.

These are scary times.   I’m still not certain how it is that any percentage of the public is comfortable with what is taking place under this administration.  I am forever confused as to how anyone still has an Obama sticker on their car.

This country needs a little reversal of destiny right now, and it begins with us.   My tool?  my mouth, my blog.  My weapon?  prayer.

Be equipped.

if only they possessed common sense.

Posted: August 6th, 2009 | Author: admin | Filed under: therapuetic rant | 2 Comments »

Common sense should tell the DNC that the  people showing up to these town hall meetings & elsewhere will only grow in numbers if they threaten to silence them.  It is mind boggling to me that not one person in this current administration possesses enough common sense to see this—it  leaves me shaking my head in absolute disbelief.  I honestly wake up thinking that the news I have seen & read from the day before was nothing more than a BAD SNL skit or worse & that this isn’t really happening in this country.  But the problem is IT IS REALLY happening BUT  I’m not laughing.

The biggest problem I see is that BO WILL NOT engage in any conversation that offers contrast to his point of view.  He doesn’t want to converse with the folks, he just wants to give speeches.  And he doesn’t listen.  If anyone begs to differ with him, he name calls and points his finger at them.

I can only speak for myself so I will.

I don’t need YOU to take care of me.  I’m all grown up now.  I don’t need my president telling me what is good for me or what sort of insurance I need or what type of car I can drive or that I need to replace all of my light bulbs with those pathetic poison filled curly Q’s…ENOUGH.

Here’s an idea Mr. president, you have 2 children of your own.  They are under the age of 18.   Raise THEM.  Tell them what to do.  The only thing(s) you need to do for me are:

  • straighten out this economy (you promised you could & would do this you promised yet you have not stopped whining about the debt you  inherited from the previous administration— You didn’t inherit THIS DEBT from Bush, it’s YOURS!)
  • Keep our country safe from harm by ensuring a strong military force.

Those are my priorities.  There are only 2 of them.

I’m keeping it simple…baby steps…you’re new at this.

The rest of that stuff is MY BUSINESS.

I can handle it.

I am self reliant.

I was born & raised in the greatest country on Earth.

I am resilient.

I am an American!

And let’s get one (more) thing straight, I am NOT a member of a “mob”.  Please STOP changing the names you are calling me, I’ve grown quite fond of “right wing nut job”.  So leave it at that.

I am a “right wing nut job” who is waving my flag with my right hand as I type this out with my left.    So come & get me!

ps & by the way: Those curly Q light bulbs you are so fond of, well those things are considered HAZARDOUS WASTE…frightening huh?  I was talking to a lady just the other day in a hardware store who had no idea of  how to properly handle CFL’s, if they should  break.  As long as you are out there preaching about saving the world by having all Americans change to CFL’s, you may want to warn them of the hazards they create when broken in the home…I mean you wouldn’t want Fido to come along & inhale a giant whiff of CFL dust.

  • Each bulb contains about 5 milligrams (mg) of mercury, a toxic heavy metal that can interfere with the development of children and unborn fetuses and may cause a wide range of health issues in adults, including brain, kidney and liver damage.
  • Because of the mercury they contain, compact fluorescent bulbs should be recycled lest they end up in landfills where they can contaminate air, soil and groundwater, potentially placing public health at risk.

I think I will wear THIS SHIRT today ;)

Harm’s way.

So let me get this straight.

Clinton had to make us look like fools, which to the left, means he looked like a  hero,  all because Gore sent these two, Ling and Lee, to China to report for his far left broadcast company and they mistakenly stepped illegally onto North Korean territory?

So now we are supposed to be excited that this has opened the door to more direct communications and negotiations with a lying, murdering, communist DICTATOR?

Perhaps we should have just traded Gore to get them back.

Just a thought.

the audacity of hypocrisy.

What gives?  Seems some at the LA Weekly are allowing their feathers to get a little ruffled over this poster which  has hit the streets of LA….they find it offensive in some way.  I don’t get the connection between the joker & Obama (well now that I write this, I guess I DO get the connection = joker!)  BUT, it’s ridiculous to think the same folks who drank from the anti-Bush well,  who wished everything BAD up to & including his assassination are now whining over this poster being put up around LA.

obama

But I don’t recall hearing them squawk about this one of Sarah Palin:

Palinf

(she’s even cute-as-a-button as a cartoon depiction of a blood sucking vampire!)

bush]

…or this one of George W.

(a VERY BAD likeness of W—could they not have found a better artist?  I know a few)

bush2

…or THIS ONE of George W.

mccain

…or this photo-shopped mess of John McCain.

YET something like THIS offends a writer for some 2-bit weekly “free rag” in the late great Golden State.

Oh the audacity of hypocrisy.
